Dr. Mafé presents the artistic story of the Holy Grail in Cordoba
Within the framework of the VI International Congress of Cultural Tourism, Dr. Ana Mafé García, an expert in the Holy Grail, gave a lecture on the artistic story that surrounds the history of the relic.
His presentation focused on the methodology to create an iconographic discourse that visually narrates the history of the Holy Chalice of the Cathedral of Valencia through the villages of the Way of the Holy Grail.
Dr. Mafé also presented her scientific article «The artistic project of the Way of the Holy Grail, Route of Knowledge, way of Peace and Dr. María Gómez Rodrigo», where she highlights the work of Dr. María Gómez, artist and art historian, as the greatest specialist in the plastic story of the Holy Grail.
The article, selected to be published in the Journal of Tourism and Heritage Research, consolidates Dr. Gómez as the key figure in the international exhibition project of the Way of the Holy Grail.
Dr. Mafé has been spreading the story of the Holy Chalice and the Way of the Holy Grail at the Cultural Tourism Congress for five years, with the aim of raising awareness of its fascinating history and promoting cultural tourism in the region.
The VI International Congress on Cultural Tourism brings together more than 450 experts from 98 universities and 25 countries to analyse the contribution of tourism to local economies, new demand needs and the latest trends in the sector.
The Congress also has 23 thematic tables where various topics such as employment in the tourism sector, digital marketing and ICTs, gastronomic, religious, archaeological, heritage and adventure tourism are discussed.
In short, the Congress seeks to create a space for dialogue between academia and companies in the tourism sector to share experiences and improve the competitiveness of the sector.
